My parents were the late Arnold and Emily Brower Sr. I was born and raised in Barrow, AK and grew up in a large whaling family (ABC, Arnold Brower's Crew). We often traveled back and forth to our seasonal cabins along the Chipp River during my childhood years. Living in Atqasuk reminds me of those times as Meade River School is right along the Meade River.
I began my educational career in 2001 with my first year of teaching in the village of Anaktuvuk Pass. I taught there for one year and then moved to Barrow to take on middle school teaching at Hopson Middle School. I taught at HMS from 2002-2006 as the 6th-7th grade science teacher. I then taught at Barrow High School from 2007-2010 as the biology teacher. I then took on the Assistant Principalship at Barrow High School from 2012-14 and started my Principalship at Meade River School 2015.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Biology with a Chemistry minor from Oral Roberts University, my teaching certificate from University of Alaska Fairbanks, my Curriculum and Instruction masters from UAF, and my Education Leadership masters from University of Alaska Southeast.
I am excited to work with parents, teachers and guardians to oversee the educational services provided to our students here at Meade River School. Our families send their best students everyday to school. We believe our students are our future leaders and as a result work hard to ensure that the keys of success are passed on to them.
